Sliding into the last weekend of September with something sultry and cool by way of Iraina Mancini, in session from earlier today witch Chris Hawkins and recorded as well as broadcast live only hours ago, September 29, 2023.
A multi talent, who counts songwriter, DeeJay, Model and host along with stunning singer, Iraina Mancini released her debut album, Undo The Blue which came out in August this year, has gotten nothing but rave reviews. Her music and style have been favorably compared to aspects of 60s Yé-Yé to a dreamy homage to 70s modern Soul.
She covers a lot of ground and covers it with aplomb, digging into the vaults of Northern Soul, Funk,60’s Garage and Rhythm and Blues rich musical history from a young age. Inspired by and building on her father’s 45’s that she had enthused over as a child, she began her passion to DJ and bring back the spirit of these often forgotten but golden musical era’s to dance floors across the globe.
Travelling the world DJ’ing and hosting at major film and fashion events, Iraina has played at Cannes Lion, NME Awards, Toronto Film Festival, and key music festivals; Glastonbury, Wilderness, Secret Garden Party, Bestival and for iconic brands such as GQ, Swarovski, Temperley London, Film4 and Pretty Green.
Although I suspect her DJ’ing days may be past her now, given what is looking like an extremely promising career with hints at going on the Summer Festival circuit in 2024. In the meantime, she’s gigging at clubs all over the UK and her popularity is spreading. Seems audiences just can’t get enough of this enchanting voice.
My advice would be to check out her debut album – Undo The Blue by way of Bandcamp and keep an eye open for coming the States at some point (hopefully).
