Berries – Radio X – 2024 – Past Daily Night Session

Berries
Berries – Making music wonderful again.

Spend a week dial-hopping from BBC to Radio X (and if you’re adventuresome around Spain and over to France) and you’ll find a veritable feast of new artists and bands currently releasing new singles, eps and albums – getting ready for gigs – or coming back from the Summer Festival slog to fill most hours of most days for months.

One of those new bands currently riding high on everyone’s “must see” list is Berries – Three young women who have an amazing amount of talent, energy and sheer joy making music.

Berries is Holly Carter on guitar, Lauren Cooper on bass and Lucie Hartmann on drums. They have two albums out, have weathered all the stress and uncertainty of being a band on Lockdown during COVID and have become the objects of very enthusiastic responses to their new album, their gigs, their interviews, to the band themselves.

Getting ready to embark on a tour of the UK between now and the end of November – it’s a sure sign they will be gigging other places, maybe heading across the Atlantic to do a few gigs here in the States. They’ve already done a slew of radio sessions, this latest being from this past Saturday (October 19th) for John Kennedy at Radio X. Prior to that they were doing a few BBC sessions and have been adopted by the dee-jays at 6 Music.

A band that mixes grunge, punk, riotgrrrrl and alt-rock along with sheer energy and passion, Berries have been universally considered “the next big thing” and are in a perpetual state of touring to prove that point. So the least you can do is grab the new album and grab tickets for the gig nearest to you.

Lots to be enthusiastic about – Berries is more than enough reason to be.

Press play – dive in – enjoy and visit them – now.
