New artists, this lunch break. The Low Flying Panic Attack is a Spanish duo formed by Marta Brandariz and Javier Martín Balsa. They got started 2021. In a relatively short time they have quickly emerged as one of the most intriguing new lights on the electronic scene.
Their sound is a mashup of genres including pop, electronic, future bass, psychedelia, rock, lo-fi and trip hop. Together they’ve created a rich and immersive listening experience that fairly screams for repeat playings. Later on in 2021 they released their debut album, ‘You Know Nothing About War’, with songs such as ‘Demons Grow’ and ‘Bridges’.
But along with the resulting lockdowns and restrictions due to COVID, touring and appearing were somewhat limited, but it didn’t prevent The Low Flying Panic Attack from putting together material which resulted in Far From Being Gone, their follow-up album to “You Know Nothing About War”. Far From Being Gone features nine original tracks in addition to collaborations with a number of EDM artists around Europe. It dropped on May 22nd of this year and this session for Radio 3 at RNE is part of that promotion.
At present, there’s not much news in the way of gigs and tours – The Low Flying Panic Attack have been playing primarily around Madrid but my guess is that will change soon, owing to the massively eclectic nature that festivals have taken on of late.
In the meantime, here’s a taste of what to expect, should you be lucky enough to catch them in the states when they decide to come over.
